Having fought throughout the Battle of Britain, Ulrich Steinhilper was shot down as he flew his Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4 on a bomber escort duty. So it was in late October 1940 Ulrich was to begin a phase of his life which would stretch him to the limit of physical endurance and to the edge of insanity. He was to become a prisoner of war, but he was not a man to embrace something as alien as imprisonment lightly and so he was to dedicate himself to the idea of escape... Blaqck cloth boards, silver title to spine. B/w photos and illustrations. 432 pages.
SIGNED by the author to bookplate on front endpaper. Lower corners of boards bumped. Text block slightly grubby. Contents clean. Blue pictorial dustwrapper is ligthly scuffed to rear panel.
