Vignettes of the human side of Army life, tales of Fifth Column, the first published account by a senior officer of the Dunkirk retreat, are woven into the saga of a Territorial Regiment. Beige cloth boards, red title to spine. B/w photos and illustrations. 134 pages. Some light fading to spine and top edge of front board. Text block and endpapers browned. Gift nscription in ink to front endpaper. Contents clean. Price-cut dustwrapper is faded to spine, heavily edge-rubbed with some wear and chips, a few closed tears to edges, grubby to white rear panel. Dustwrapper states 18 illustrations, title page states 12, contents state 16 illustrations... I count 17 including the illustration to title page (none missing).
