Larger format maroon paper-covered boards. Picture of Miss Ribby in a small circle on front cover. Mottled lilac endpapers (changed to pictures of the patty-pan in later editions). 52 pages. 7.25 x 5.5". First printing of the first edition. Spine neatly repaired with very slight loss at top and tail. Corners worn. Slight fading to covers with a few very small marks. Name in ink to front pastedown. Light marks to contents but still a bright copy of the first edition.
