Black cloth boards, gilt title to spine. B/w illustrations and photos to rear. vi and 107 pages plus plates at rear. Boards clean. Endpapers & text block browned with minor foxing present. Contents otherwise clean. Cream dustwrapper is faded at edges, browned to spine and just a little grubby.

Second Edition, revised and enlarged. Compiled from original sources with notes. Pages untrimmed. Blue cloth boards, black title to spine. B/w illustrations. xv and 433 pages including index. Top & tail of spine lightly shelf worn. Light scuff marks to rear board. Endpapers and text block browned. Neat name & date in ink to front endpaper. Some pages unopened due to being untrimmed and therefore unread. Dustwrapper is edge-worn with chips to corners, large closed tear to front panel, is browned with age and has a horizontal crease across the middle.
