Some light marks to covers. Front joint badly cracked and rear joint beginning to crack. Bumping to bottom of rear board. Several hinges are cracked leaving the binding a little loose. Name to top of front endpaper on both front and verso. Inscription in ink to half title page. Some foxing to page edges otherwise contents generally clean.

A period novelette featuring the Gills of Twickenham and misunderstandings at a ball, based on the operetta by Eleanor and Herbert Farjeon. Deep pink cloth covers with silver titles to spine and silver vignette. B/w chapter headers. 163 pages. SIGNED by author, with dedication and date, on front endpaper. A little bumping and wear to spine and corners. Pages are lightly browned but contents are clean. Dustwrapper is edge worn with some tears and chips, tear across spine near top, slight loss from ends of spine. Bottom corner cut from front flap. Wrapper is a little grubby.
