Browning and foxing to outer page edges. Wrapper is edge-creased with a few chips and nicks; some grubby marks; a little fading.

Wrapper is foxed with edge-tears and chips; some loss.

Name in ink to verso of half-title page. All plates present. Contents creased diagonally across top half of page. Still a reasonable copy.

Blue cloth, white titles. Colour frontis. 8 b/w plates. Written when Russ was 19 years old, he later wrote under the pseudonym of Patrick O'Brian. Superb Tunnicliffe illustrations. REDUCED PRICE. Top and tail of spine slightly faded. Spine slightly bumped. Last few pages lightly foxed else contents fine. Original brown wrapper with pictorial onlay is price-cut and very slightly nicked at top and tail of spine. A lovely copy of this rare title.
