The West Clare Railway was one of a network of 3ft gauge lines which mushroomed across rural Ireland in the wake of the 1883 Tramways Act. This is a definitive history of the Railway, giving its entire story from the first parliamentary proposals of 1845, to the controversial closure in 1961. Large format. Olive green cloth boards, gilt title to spine. B/w photos. 224 pages. ISBN: 187198016X. Narrow band of fading to lower edges of boards. Contents clean. Pictorial green dustwrapper is also faded along the lower edge, lightly scuffed and has old price-label to rear panel.
