Beige cloth spine, pictorial front board showing school girl with tennis racket. Colour frontis, 4 b/w plates and numerous b/w text illustrations. 208 pages. 9.75 x 7.25". Spine bumped and rubbed with small splits to top and bottom. Corners bumped and worn. Board edges rubbed. Covers grubby and marked. Front joint cracked and mended with tape. Frontis detached. Slight colouring to one plate. Pencil scribble to rear endpapers and some other pages. Red pen and pencil scribble to verso of one plate. A little foxing and some fingering to page margins.

First story is A Surprise for the Piggledy Gnome. Spine and corners bumped and worn. Bump to front cover has bent board at top and damaged top and outside edge. Spine and front cover a bit grubby. A couple of hinges cracked but binding is firm. Contents generally clean. A little foxing. All plates present but two have darkened edges, one of these has ragged edges too.

Dusty marks to last page of text, although text is still legible.

Q1441 in pen to front endpaper and small smudge to top corner. Foxing, mainly to text block and prelims. A few marks to contents.
