Very good condition.
Cream cloth spine with black title. Front cover shows children feeding the birds. First story is 'The New Ball Goes to See'. Spine slightly bumped and rubbed. Corners slightly worn. Name and date in ink in belongs to box. Endpapers are very lightly browned. Some light foxing to textblock. A nice copy.

Red cloth, gilt. Crossed swords and laurel wreath decoration. 16 colour plates. All edges gilt. Spine and corners bumped, spine sunned. Some light scuffing to covers. Inscription in ink and an owl sticker to half title-page. There is pale edge browning else the contents are clean.

Heavy foxing. Some grubby fingermarks and other marks.

Cloth spine faded but title still bold. Browning to contents. Bookplate to front pastedown. Inscription in ink dated 1923 to free front endpaper. Plate facing page 56 is detached. Colouring, and pencil scribbles to some b/w illustrations. Hinges pulled, binding is worn but holding. Musty odour present.
