Very good condition in a slightly better than very good dustwrapper.
Including an Illustrated Dictionary of Ukiyo-e containing cross-referenced entries for artists, schools, techniques, historical periods, etc. This book sis an extensive history of the development of ukiyo-e in its sociological context and of the lives of its masters, with particular emphasis on the innovation in style and techniques that each one contributed. Large, heavy format. Black cloth boards, silver title to spine. B/w illustrations, some colour illustrations. ISBN: 0881688894. Text block slightly grubby in appearance and a few small foxspots to top edge. Contents clean. Pictorial dustwrapper is lightly faded to front flap edge, lightly browned to spine. Musty odour present.
