Light damp spots to endpapers. Musty smell to contents else clean. Dustwrapper is price-cut (twice) to front flap, is slightly edge rubbed and is heavily foxed.

Oblong format, purple card wraps. Colour and b/w illustrations. An essay written some time between 1947 and 1951 but not accepted for publication. The essay is presented alongside a Louis Wain Exhibition held in the Victoria and Albert Museum during December and January 1972-73. The text of 1947-51 was slightly revised in 1959. This edition of the text has been corrected, and altered but is substantially as it was in 1951. ISBN: 090148654X. Slight rubbing to corners. Slight browning to cover edges. Light page browning else contents clean.

Inscription in ink to front free-endpaper dedicated to Poet Longellow's two sons (Charley & Ernest), Ernest has been neatly crossed out. The inscription is dated 1851, the printed date on the title-page is 1852. Some hinges pulled, some page browning.

The delightful story of Miss Moppet, the little kitten, and her attempts to catch a mouse who is determined not to be caught! The first edition is printed in panoramic form, mounted on a strip of linen and folded concertina-style into a wallet with a tuck-in flap. Needless to say, these were very fragile and few survived. Later editions were printed in the usual small book format. The wallet is covered with grey pictorial cloth with a colour onlay of the Miss Moppet to the front. "London & New York" on rear cover denotes the first printing. Folding joints inside covers are cracked. Small inscription in ink to front pastedown. Some light fingering but contents generally clean. Page egdes (where folded) are slightly worn. Silver tab closure covering is missing to front (quite normal with these editions). Pale darkening to lower half of front cover (see picture). New York & London to rear cover denoting a 2nd printing.
