Very good condition in a good dustwrapper.
When Mr. Cat departed this earth in the fullness of his years, no one thought another cat could take his place but along came Amber, who promptly made the place all her own... Grey cloth, gilt title to spine. B/w illustrations. 64 pages. Spine and corners bumped. Light spotting to covers. Foxing to endpapers and textblock. Dustwrapper is edge chipped with some loss to top of spine and is foxed and slightly grubby.

Numerous b/w and two-tone illustrations of cats throughout (by Wain). Nister No. 742. Covers slightly scuffed and worn to spine and corners. Endpapers browned. Front joint is partly cracked. Some page browning and fingering. Some small margin tears and some corner creases. Still a decent copy of a scarce book.

Many b/w illustrations on Wain's anthropomorphic animals especially cats. Boards are edge worn with some slight loss of surface paper. Inscription in ink to top margin of title-page (dated 1902). Some small margin tears and one page has a large repaired tear (very neat repair). Small patch of surface paper loss to lower edge of one full-page b/w illustration. Light vertical crease to one page. Generally a very decent copy of a scarce book.
