The chief object of tis book is to moderate as far as possible the hands written in England for administrative, legal or business purposes during the past eight or nine centuries. The invaluable series of 36 plates shows 56 examples of English handwriting from c. 700 to the middle of the 19th century. Originally published in 1958 (1st) and 1966 (2nd), this is the facimile edition. ISBN: 0903967162. Spine bumped. Light browning to front fly-leaf. Dustwrapper is lightly browned with small hole to centre of spine and small tear to top front corner.
