Contained in publisher's slipcase which has a few white marks and is lightly scuffed. Not a bad copy (sounds worse than it is).

Volume I is second impression 1955 (same year as first publication), Volume II is first edition, first impression 1957. Light rubbing and wear to spine & corners. Text block lightly browned. Occasional foxing present. Price-cut pictorial dustwrappers are edge-rubbed and chipped with small amounts of loss to edges, a bit grubby.
