Maroon boards with gilt title to spine. Baron Peter Wrangel was one of the most important of the "White Generals" to fight the Red Army and one of the first officers to join the White Army against the Bolsheviks. This biography has been carefully compiled by his son. ISBN: 0850528909. Spine and corners bumped. Pale page browning, small green felt-tip pen mark to lower edge of textblock, contents otherwise clean. Dustwrapper is slightly creased to spine and a little worn to top corner of front panel.

The first, on Blades, traces the history of the Japanese sword from its origins to the present day, with a brief description of the forging processes, an epitome of nomenclature and expertise, an a concise account of the most important schools of Japanese swordsmiths. The second part, on Mounts, describes the fittings appropriate to the various types of Japanese sword,k explains the different materials and techniques employed, and enumerates the main schools and styles of sword-furniture makers. Red cloth boards, gilt title on black title block to spine. B/w photos and illustrations. 110 pages including index plus photos. Small white mark to rear board else boards bright. Tape marks to endpapers. Text block browned. Contents clean. Pictorial dustwrapper is lgithly edge-worn, repaired to rear flap fold with yellowed tape, rear panel a little grubby. Musty odour present.
