The period between the outbreak of the Second World War and the end of the following decade was one of the most eventful and lacerating times in the affairs of London's passenger road services. This book covers the events of the period up to 1950, when the back had been broken of the task of vehicle renewal and London Transport had recovered sufficiently to re-start the tram replacement programme. Large format. Pictorial glazed boards. B/w photos. ISBN: 0904711773. Pale foxing to endpapers. Else contents clean. Pictorial dustwrapper is lightly edge-creased and lightly faded to spine, a little browned.
