Good condition.
Blue textured cloth boards with embossed pattern and gilt title to front. 8 lithographic plates. All edges gilt. 72 pages plus 40 page publisher adverts to rear. Boards browned and marked, rubbed at edges, corners lightly worn. Front joint starting to crack. Front hinge pulled but binding is tight. Prelims and endpapers are grubby. Damp stain to verso of frontis, small damp stain to top margin of plates. Contents are a little grubby. If frontis is plate 4, all plates are present else plate 4 is missing.

Published on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name which ran from 28 August - 20 November 2005. The Limbourg brothers were famous for their miniature paintings and late Gothic manuscript illuminators. Large format, very heavy! Dark blue cloth boards, gilt titles. Colour illustrations throughout. 447 numbered pages. ISBN: 9055445967. A few minor marks to boards. Text block lightly browned else contents fine. Pictorial dustwrapper has a tiny closed tear to top edge and is unevenly faded.

The Douce Apocalypse, an illuminated luxury manuscript, was made for prince Edward, later Edward I, and his wife Eleanor of Castile in 1270. The text and images had a contemporary significance in the 13th century are were interpreted in the context of prophecies concerning the coming of the Antichrist. This volume conveys both the beauty of the original illuminated manuscript and the enduring fascination of its contents. Black cloth boards, gilt title to spine. Colour illustrations. ISBN: 9781851243600. A lovely copy. Pictorial dustwrapper is lightly scuffed to rear panel.

Written and illuminated by Joel Ben Simeon called Feibusch Ashkenazi with a commentary attributed to Eleazar Ben Judah of Worms. Introduction, notes on the illuminations, transcription and English translation by Goldstein. Very large format. Colour illustrations. Blue cloth boards, gilt titles, English title to front board, Hebrew to rear board. Some text in Hebrew. Small mark to lower edge of front board. Gilt title to spine a little rubbed. Contained in matching publisher's slipcase which has some very light fading.
