Some foxing to textblock and top edge of textblock a little dusty. Dustwrapper is foxed on verso, is slightly edge chipped with minimal loss and has a large tear to rear panel. There is a message from the publisher on the colophon page stating "the first impression of this edition of Cranford was published in 1940, and most of it was destroyed by enemy action".
