Containing tributes from men who write from intimate knowledge of this great man. White cloth boards with blue titles and borders. B/w tipped in plates and b/w photos & illustrations. Split to top rear edge of spine. Boards slightly grubby. Name in ink to front endpaper. Foxing throughout - heavier in some places than in others.

Red pictorial cloth, black titles. The contents are divided into five sections, four covering the British fighting zones from north to south, the fifth covering the "back-areas". Each of the five sections are preceded by a short survey of the War history of the region as a whole. B/w photos accompanied by a paragraph of information relative to the particular locality. Boards nevenly faded with a few minor stains. Pencil erasure marks to front endpaper give the page a grubby appearance. Front and rear hinge pulled but binding tight.
