Foxing mainly to page edges. Price-cut dustwrapper is edge worn with several small tears and chips. Label removed from bottom of spine leaving old tape marks. Label removed from front flpa. Wrapper is grubby.

A few light foxspots and a little light fingering otherwise the contents are generally clean. Dustwrapper is edge worn and creased with some tears. Spine is faded and rubbed. Rear panel is grubby. Dark marks to verso of spine.

Corners bumped and very worn. Some rubbing to board edges. Covers scuffed and grubby. Front endpaper removed. 1 colour plate is MISSING. Front joint and several hinges cracked. Erased blue pencil marks to front endpaper and verso of frontis. Colour pencil lines to front and rear joint. Some marks to page margins. Browning to endpapers.

Page 31 has minor grubby mark to margin else contents are clean. A couple of pages have small closed tears to margin edges (not affecting any text). Dustwrapper is edge-worn and chipped with a few closed tears to edges and some browning, spine is a little faded. Overall a lovely copy of a first edition.
