Red cloth with gilt titles to spine and front cover. 4 animal vignettes to corners of front cover. B/w illustrations. Translated from the Danish by Alexander Teixeira De Mattos. UK edition. Spine and cover edges are a bit faded. Some scuffing to covers. Foxing; heaviest to endpapers, outer page edges and prelims. Some creasing to a few page edges.

A classic, comprehensive study of colour printing. The text is enhanced by 28 plates spanning the history of coloured book illustration techniques. Red cloth boards, gilt title and tooling to spine, blind title and pattern to front board. xxiv and 339 pages including index. Small stain to rear board. Corners bumped and rubbed. Top & tail of spine lightly worn with small nick in the cloth to base of spine. Endpapers browned. Scattered foxing throughout. All plates present. Some hinges pulled.
