Red pictorial cloth with dark title to spine and gilt title to front. Patterned endpapers. 4 b/w illustrations. B/w headpieces. 196 pages. Bumping to spine and corners. Spine is faded. Covers a little grubby. Rear joint and some hinges cracked. Prize presentation plate to front pastedown. Imprint of some writing to top of endpaper. Foxing mainly to page edges and margins. Some fingering. Plates all present but one is slightly detached.

Two volumes in one book. Pale green cloth with tan titles and decorative vignette to front cover, gilt title block with black titles and decoration to spine. B/w plates and text illustrations. 158 pages for each volume. Spine bumped, worn and browned with two small splits to top edge. A little bumping and wear to corners. Covers grubby, small dark mark to front cover. Front joint badly cracked between title page and frontis, webbing showing. Hinges cracked causing binding to feel a little loose. Browning to endpapers and page edges. Foxing, mainly to endpapers.

Bumping and wear to spine, corners and cover edges. Slight loss from ends of spine. Some light marks and scratches to covers. Ink inscription to verso of frontis. Some light browning and foxing but contents generally clean.
