De Arte Venandi cum Avibus was originally written shortly before the year 1250. This is a reissue of the 1943 edition. Large format. Green cloth boards, gilt title and tooling to spine. Colour frontis. B/w illustrations. cx + 637 pages. Boards clean. Foxing to text block and endpapers. Gift inscription in ink to first blank page else contents clean. Dustwrapper has some foxing, loss to spine (affecting title) and rear panel flap edge caused by insect/snail damage. Edges slightly worn. Overall, a decent copy.

Embellished by 4 magnificent full-colour plates plus dramatic b/w illustrations, this is a truly special edition. Royal blue cloth, with white titles amd b/w vignette to front cover. 55 pages. Light fading to top edge of spine and rear board. Neat name and date in ink to front endpaper. Couple of light rust marks to gutter of front endpaper. Contents otherwise clean. Price-cut pictorial dustwrapper is lightly chipped at corners, some scuffing to front panel, rear panel has a few closed tears and is lightly browned. Overall a lovely copy.
