Inclusive of some portions of the Ancient Histories of Rous, Camden, Speed, and Dugdale, with curious memoirs of the lives of these early English writers; A description of the present state of the county with its modern divisions and subdivisions, and their population and valuation; A directory of every town and considerable village in the county; A Gazetteer of all the towns, villages, parishes and hamlets, with their distances from the principal Market or Post Towns, and from London; and an Itinerary of the direct and cross roads, with a list of the Noblemen and Gentlemen's Seats. Three-quarter leather binding with 5 raised bands to spine and green title label with gilt title. Brown cloth boards. Folding map of the county to front. B/w etchings. xiii and 800 pages including index. Top edge gilt. Rebound. Leather spine is lightly discoloured with minor spotting, top & tail lightly worn. Leather corners a little worn. New green endpapers, new fly leaves to front and rear. Faint ink stamp to front pastedown. Folding map present with a closed tear to gutter margin (not affecting the map itself) and paper repair below the tear, map is browned with age, margins creased at gutter edge. Small name in ink to top of title page. Foxing throughout. Some annotation present. Publisher adverts to the rear are missing (removed when rebound?).

An album of pressed flowers from the UK. Very large format. Black leather spine & corners, black cloth sides with gilt title and vignette to front. Flowers are pressed and mounted on card with paper guards. 212 specimens, 4 and 6 per page. Hand-written pencil common name to each specimen. List of Contents handwritten to rear. Pages bound in with cloth. Spine & corners rubbed, scratched & lightly worn. Boards scuffed and discoloured. Large bookplate of previous owner to front pastedown. Small tear to lower edge of front endpaper. Endpapers are grubby. Specimens are discoloured, some have disintegrated in part. Heavy foxing to paper guards. Browning to card on which specimens are placed. Some card margins are disintegrating, exposing fresh card beneath. All specimens are present if only in part (mostly complete). An unusual item.
