Foxing to page edges and cover edges. Light creases to rear cover of volume 5. Box is lightly creased with some foxing but otherwise complete and bright.

Mark down the side margin of one plate otherwise plates are all clean and bright. Faint transfer of colour from plates to opposite pages. Some margin marks otherwise contents are very good.

Large format. Brown leather binding with gilt decoration, raised bands to spine. Gilt page edges. With 418 illustrations engraved by A. Closs. 487 pages. Some scuffs to leather at corners and edges, and a chip to leather towards top right corner of front board, and smaller chip at bottom of rear board. Leather on rear board is stained. Binding firm. Pressed flowers and foliage taped to front endpaper, with inscriptions. Endpapers foxed, some scattered foxing throughout contents, mainly to page margins. Engravings are generally clean and bright. A handsome volume.

A few light foxspots to rear cover. Text pages are lightly browned and there is minimal rubbing to cover edges. Otherwise this is a very near fine copy.

Tissue-guard of torn plate and facing text page also have tears (larger). Foxing to contents. Contents are a little loose but binding is still tight.

Large square format stiff card covers; spiral bound. An unusual book. Contains 6 different handkerchiefs (stuck in) with some known Blyton characters in colour to each one. Each handkerchief page also has a thick clear page, with some writing on to compliment each handkerchief. Some scuffing to covers; creasing and wear to corners. Marks to rear cover. Some clear pages are starting to become or almost detached - one clear page is totally detached, but still inserted. Some foxing and marks. Last but one handkerchief page has small piece of loss to bottom edge of page; some browning; next clear page has same shaped loss. Some page corner creasing. An unusual item - fragile, but still all present!
