Bound in publishers deluxe binding of brown leather with embossed decoration at front edges and with gilt titles. Top edge gilt. Two-tone green pictorial endpapers. 12 tissue-guarded colour plates and b/w text illustrations. Spine and corners very slightly bumped and rubbed. Tiny worn patch to lower edge of rear cover. Some very faint marking to covers. Light foxing throughout. Lower corner of half-title and frontis creased, tiny nick to edge of half-title page. All other plates fine condition.

Very good condition in a poor dustwrapper.
Red cloth, gilt titles, vignette and border. Top edge gilt. Pink pictorial endpapers. Delightful b/w illustrations throughout. 103 pages. Spine bumped and slightly rubbed to head and tail, spine has faded patches to centre and base. Lower edge of rear cover is very slightly faded. Covers generally bright and clean. Previous owner's name in ink to half-title page. One hinge cracked. A few very light finger marks to page margins. The book itself is a nice, clean copy. Original wrapper is in two halves (detached along rear edge of spine), spine is browned and has 2.5" loss at top, 1" loss at centre and slight loss at base, also patch of loss to top corner of rear panel. The wrapper looks as though it was originally too small for the book (0.5cm too small along top edge).

Gissing lived alone on the Canine Estates, had an income of 1000 bones a year but was not happy... A story about dogs. 4 unusual colour plates and 16 b/w line drawings. Blue cloth, gilt titles and vignette to front cover and spine. Blue and white pictorial endpapers. Top edge gilt. 227 pages. Spine and corners bumped with a little wear. Covers slightly grubby and spotted. Name plate to front pastedown. Front joint cracked at top (between pastedown and endpaper) and at base (between free-endpaper and half-title page). Foxing to prelims. Some light fingering to page margins. Contents generally clean.

Five small format paperwrap books contained in shaped pictorial slipcase with opening door at front. Story books are: Noddy and the flying elephant; Big-ears loses some jewels; Noddy and the 3 bears; Noddy's car rides in the air; Noddy and the big balloon. B/w illustrations. Noddy and the flying elephant - this has some extensive damage to covers - looks like they've been 'nibbled' around the edges and to centre of front cover. Some light edge-wear to covers of other titles. Overall still very good - in original slip-case that is a bit worn at edges.

Very good condition in a very good dustwrapper.
This is Patrick O'Brian's first book, written when he was still in school, under his real name 'Patrick Russ'. Red cloth with green titles. Colour frontis, b/w illustrations. Caesar is a cub in the Tibetan forests; it follows his early wild life, how he became an orphan and also tells of his capture and taming. REDUCED PRICE. Spine and cover edges are faded, with some more fading starting to affect front and back covers. Light foxing to endpapers and outer page edges. In 2ND issue dustwrapper with colour pictorial onlay to front. The wrapper is showing browning, to same parts that are faded undernath. A few light marks but complete with no tears or chips.

One hinge pulled, a few foxspots and finger marks. 2.25" closed tear to bottom edge of 'up with the lark'. A nice copy.

One plate has a large closed tear to lower margin. One hinge is cracked. Contents have grubby fingermarks to page margins but plates are still bright. A nice copy of this rare antiquarian children's book.
