NEVASA: BRITISH INDIA CENTENARY SHIP
by Barrie Sanderson; Marion Browning; Alan Cullen
Published by The Ss Uganda Trust. 1st. 2009
Slightly better than very good condition in a slightly better than very good dustwrapper. The British India Steam Navigation Company reached its 100th anniversary in 1956, when the largest ship was built for the company, Nevasa. This book endeavours to recall the life of this fine ship designed to carry troops, children and passengers to many parts of the world. On the demise of troop transportation by sea, the ship was converted to accomodate schoolchildren for educational cruising. Large format. Black cloth boards, gilt title to spine. B/w and a few colour photos.
SIGNED by one of the authors (Barrie Sanderson) with dedication. Includes compliment slip also dedicated and signed. Base of spine lightly shelf bumped. Contents clean. Pictorial dustwrapper has a minor mark to top of front flap and is lightly scuffed.
