John Heminge and Henry Condell prepared and oversaw the First Folio edition of Shakespeare (1623) and without their work which was undertaken in part as a gesture of respect and love towards their former colleague some plays would have been lost and others would only exist in garbled versions. Heminge and Condell were closely associated with Shakespeare and were among the principal actors in his plays. Brown imitation leather cloth boards with gilt tooling to sides and gilt title to spine. B/w illustrations. xiv and 110 pages. ISBN: 0853621934. Boards clean and bright. Minor foxing to text block and prelims. Else contents clean.
