A roll of assisted immigrant arrivals from Somerset and Bristol during the years 1839-1854, also describing conditions existing in the county at that time and the factors influencing emmigration. The need for immigrants in the Colony, the financing of immigration from Colonial funds, and the vessels chartered and the conditions during these voyages are described. Light brown boards, gilt title to spine. B/w illustrations. 336 pages.
Lower board edges rubbed and slightly faded. Vertical crease to free front endpaper. A few minor foxspots to text block. Pictorial dustwrapper is faded to spine and unevenly faded to front panel, edge-creased.
