Very good condition in a very good dustwrapper. Two volumes: volume 1 text; volume 2 illustrations. A major work of scholarship and original research of very great importance to students of the history of English architecture. Red cloth boards, gilt titles. B/w photos and illustrations.
Small stain to base of spines and faint mottling to boards. Text blocks browned. Bookplate with name crossed out in both volumes to front endpaper, volume 1 has name to front endpaper heavily crossed out in ink, volume 2 has name in ink to front endpaper, not crossed out. A few scattered foxspots present, mainly to prelims. Red pictorial dustwrapper are rubbed at edges and corners, faded to spines with small chips to top & tail, some foxing to verso.
