LONDON SURVEY'D: THE WORK OF THE SURVEY OF LONDON 1894-1994
Published by Royal Commission On The Historical Monuments Of England. 1st. 1994
Slightly better than very good condition. The survey of London traces its origins to the campaigning zeal of the 1890s when C R Ashbee and a group of like-minded conservationists set up the Watch Committee to campaign against the demolition of historic buildings. Out of this grew 'the great enterprise' of creating an inventory of all London's historic buildings as an aid to their protection and is still ongoing. Red pictorial cardwraps. B/w illustrations.
Base of spine bumped. Contents clean.
