Very good condition in a very good dustwrapper. 12 Volumes (complete) plus supplement (13 volumes in total). Being a corrected re-issue with an introduction, supplement and bibliography of a New English Dictionary on Historical Principles founded mainly on the materials collected by The Philosophical Society and edited by Murray, Bradley, Craigie & Onions. Blue cloth. Large format. VERY HEAVY set.
Reprints. Volumes VIII & IX reprinted 1961, all other volumes reprinted 1978. Volumes VIII & IX Ex-library from Bishopsgate Institute Reference Library, dustwrappers on these two volumes are faded and worn to spine - volume VIII dustwrapper spine is torn at top. Volume XI has blue chalk to top of text block (not affecting contents). Volume III has a grease spot to dustwrapper spine. Occasional pulled hinge but binding is tight to all volumes. Text blocks are a little grubby as are the dustwrappers. Selling with all faults. Main faults are listed.
