Horace Pippin, African-American, was a World War I veteran an self-taught painter who first came to prominence int he late 1930s. His landscapes, still lifes, biblical scenes, and images of war are a direct reflection of his own experiences. Large format. Green boards, gilt title to spine. Colour & b/w illustrations.
Corners of boards lightly rubbed. Contents fine. Dustwrapper is lightly edge-creased and slightly fading to spine.
