FROM HASTINGS TO THE MARY ROSE: THE GREAT WARBOW

by Matthew Strickland; Robert Hardy

Published by Sutton Publishing. 1st. 2005

Slightly better than very good condition in a slightly better than very good dustwrapper. In 1979, divers excavating the wreck of the Tudor warship the Mary Rose discovered numerous yew longbows in remarkable condition, some still in their packing chests. This led to a major new study of the medieval longbow at war... Large format. Black cloth boards, gilt title to spine. Colour & b/w photos and illustrations.

Narrow band of white marking to vertical edges of covers, rear pastedown is misplaced during binding process, leaving a small chip to pastedown, lower half of page 371/372 is creased, else a lovely copy. Dustwrapper slightly faded to spine.
