The book is a study of a major eighteenth-century factory between the years 1768-82, of the methods by which ornaments were designed, made and marketed and of Boulton's own keen interest in promoting the business. Yellow cloth boards, gilt title to spine. B/w photos and a few colour. xii and 398 pages including index.
SIGNED by the author with a gift inscription. Top edge of boards and text block lightly foxed. Bookplate of Geoffrey & Elspeth Howe to front pastedown. Small hole in the midle of the text to page 79/80 (see photo) else contents clean. Pictorial dustwrapper is sunned/faded to spine, scuffed to rear panel, and lightly edge-creased.
