The official history marking the centenary of the Royal Navy Volunteer Reserve, known as the 'Wavy Navy' because of the distinctive wavy gold stripes on the reservists' uniforms, from their formation in 1903 through their unification with the mercantile Royal Naval Reserve in 1958, and on to their present complete integration with the Royal Navy as 'the part-time element of a single naval service'. Blue boards, gilt title to spine. B/w photos.

SIGNED by the author to title page plus signature of a Commander of the Royal Naval Reserve. Price-cut dustwrapper.
