Orange cloth,black titles to spine. 4 colour plates including 2 by Harrison (one with fairies!), numerous b/w illustrations. Spine and corners slightly bumped and rubbed. Front free-endpaper neatly removed. Foxing else contents clean.

Pictorial boards, front shows two children on a bike "merry days". Colour frontis (possibly by Harrison?) plus b/w and 3-colour illustrations. First story is The Magic Goose Quill. Spine and corners bumped and worn. Rear cover scuffed. Endpapers are browned. Inscription in ink to verso of front free-endpaper. Rear joint is broken but the binding is still holding (by glue?). Some hinges cracked. Foxing else contents clean.

Some scuffing to covers. White cloth spine is grubby. Rear cover edges are grubby/slightly damp stained. Inscription in ink to verso of frontis (with a small 'merry christmas' sticker to top corner of same page). Heavy foxing to page edges and textblock.

Very good condition in a almost very good dustwrapper.
Cream cloth, large pictorial onlay to spine and front board, front board shows boy cooking over an open fire whilst girl is passing sticks for fire. First story is 'The Griffins' by Florence Harrison. Colour frontis shows 'The Brownie Gets His Cream'. Colour & b/w illustrations. Boards clean, worn at corners. Name in ink to front pastedown. A few minor foxspots and light marks to margins. Colour plate "She bore away from the danger" has been neatly trimmed away on bottom margin (about an inch missing) but still bears the title of the plate and has a few small closed tears to vertical edge. Pictorial wrapper has neat inscription in ink to front panel, is edge-worn and has loss at edges. Overall, still a decent copy.
