Large, heavy format. 3/4 red leather binding. Colour chromolithograph frontis. Numerous b/w plates and illustrations. October 4th 1890 to August 29th 1891. Rebacked with burgundy cloth spine, retaining original title piece. New endpapers. Frontis is MISSING and has been replaced with the plate which was opposite page 1. 1 other plate MISSING (Our British Cavalry). Fold-out plate opposite page 289 is creased. Browning and fingering to contents.

Large format. Maroon pictorial cloth. 12 colour and b/w plates. Boards lightly scuffed, spine lightly faded and lightly creased. Front hinge is broken and therefore prelims to page ix are loose/detached. Otherwise binding is tight. Folding frontis is torn in two along fold. Page edge browning and a few scattered foxspots. All plates are present. A working copy only.

Very good condition.
Volume 48 1925-26. Large heavy format. Green pictorial cloth. Colour plates (some of which fold-out) and b/w illustrations. Rear board lightly scuffed. Top & tail of spine a little grayed, spine edges rubbed. Lower edge of boards rubbed, lower corners worn through cloth to boards. Front board is lovely and bright. Minor foxing and browning to endpapers. Front joint just starting to crack from bottom. A few scattered foxspots to contents. Mostly clean.

Name plate and child's name in pencil to front free-endpaper. Foxing and other marks to page margins. Lower corner of page 87/88 cut off (text not affected).

Covers scuffed and slightly marked. Name plate to front pastedown. Pencil doodles erased from margins of page 65 and pencil doodles to rear endpapers. Joints and hinges pulled and cracked causing contents to be slightly loose. Contents are foxed and a bit grubby.

Includes two articles and b/w illustrations by Louis Wain. Spine and corners bumped, covers edge worn. Damp stain to base of spine and affecting lower inner corners of covers. Inscription in ink to front free-endpaper. Tiny booksellers sticker to rear free-endpaper. Some light browning and foxing to endpapers and textblock. Dustwrapper is edge worn and grubby with damp staining to lower edges and some other marks, loss at edges.
