This volume contains detailed accounts of all known ancient monuments and historical buildings in the district of Lorn from earliest times to 1707, and of selected examples of later buildings down to the middle of the 19th century. Large format. Blue cloth boards, gilt title to spine. B/w drawings, plans and photos. Map showing the position of the principal Monuments in Lorn in end pocket. A hefty volume. ISBN: 0114911479. Lower edge of text block slightly grubby. Map in rear pocket is present. Contents are clean. Price-cut brown dustwrapper has small closed tear to top front corner (no loss), and is lightly rubbed to other corners.

Very good condition in a very good dustwrapper.
The history of the building of Inveraray, a West Highland capital, by the 3rd and 5th Dukes of Argyll. Large format. Grey mottled boards, Blue title label with gilt title to spine. B/w photos and illustrations throughout. ISBN: 0852241879. Spine faded, uneven fading to boards and a few marks. Text block browned and has some foxing. Bookplate to front endpaper and inscription partially crossed out in ink. Contents clean. Pale blue pictorial dustwrapper is browned and a little grubby.
