Pictorial boards, blue cloth spine. Front board shows cat at a writing desk with 3 kittens behind. Colour mounted frontis plate, two dogs playing at the sea-side. B/w illustrations throughout, many of cats! 87 pages. 10 x 8". Spine has faded to brown, with some other marks; appears to have been repaired to top and tail at some point. Heavy scuffing and surface paper damage to covers. Corners are bumped and very worn. Joint/hinge between title page and frontis is cracked, showing stitching and webbing. Foxing and browning to pages throughout.

Beige cloth with orange titles, illustration of 3 puppies to the front (one sitting on cushion). 12 colour plates plus b/w illustrations. Life and adventures of a mongrel pup! Spine and corners bumped and worn, split to lower 2" of rear edge of spine. Some grubby marks to front cover. Name, date and a couple of initials in ink to front free-endpaper. Light damp stain to top of inner margins of front endpapers and to top corner of rear free-endpaper. Some light foxing and a few grubby fingermarks to contents.

Couple of splits to spine, which is also grubby, with a little fraying to top and tail. Some scuffs and surface paper damage to onlay to front cover. Damp marks to edges of rear covers, but only goes through a little to rear endpapers. Damp marks also to corners of front cover. Page browning, with the odd foxspot. Hinges are pulled in places, so that binding is starting to weaken, a few magic tape repairs. Illustrations are still wonderful!!
