Very good condition in a very good dustwrapper.
Maria Henniker-Hadden's (the delightful heroine of The Warden's Niece) adventures in Italy spring of 1877. Blue mottle boards, silver title to spine. 256 pages. B/w illustrations. Spine and corners slightly bumped and rubbed. Name, date and old price in ink to front free-endpaper. Some light foxing. Dustwrapper is edge rubbed and slightly grubby to rear panel.

Tiny crease to tip of top corners, light diagonal crease to top corner of prelims. Else a clean copy. Blue dustwrapper is lightly scuffed and has a biro mark crossing out to rear panel (price?).

Front and rear joint cracked but binding is otherwise tight. Minor foxing and a few grubby marks to endpapers. Text block browned and grubby. Contents themselves appear to be clean on a quick flick through. Black dustwrapper is scuffed and has dampstaining to verso along horizontal edges (not visible to front). Musty damp odour present.
