82 wood-engravings. Green cloth, gilt title to spine 384 pages. A scarce Tunnicliffe item. 7.5 x 5". Spine and corners bumped. Some foxing to cover edges. Endpapers foxed. Dustwrapper is edge chipped with loss, grubby, foxed and browned to spine. Crease to front flap.

Very pale green cloth with black titles and illustration to front. 236 numbered pages plus index. 20 b/w wood engravings. Spine and corners slightly bumped. Endpapers partly browned. Dustwrpaper is browned, particularly to spine (with a couple of small damp spots), slight wear and loss to top of spine.

Spine bumped. Covers discoloured. Foxing to endpapers and some pages. Crease to top corner of front free-endpaper. Yellow dustwrapper is grubby and foxed, browned to spine and worn at top and tail of spine.

Brick red cloth, gilt titles. B/w illustrations. Some minor mottlng to boards, light browning to top of spine. Gilt titles bright. Browning to endpapers. Price-cut pictorial dustwrapper is edge-worn with a few chips and closed tears, browned to spine and grubby to rear panel.

Gilt is still bright. Text block browned. A few scattered foxspots to contents and a few grubby marks e.g. page 15 (see photo). Contents generally very nice. Pictorial dustwrapper is edge-rubbed, lightly faded to spine, lightly scuffed, front flap has had tape on it at some point which has stained the flap vertically with some loss of surface paper.
