The Art of Falconry Being the De Arte Venandi Cum Avibus of Frederick II of Hohenstaufen translated and edited by Wood and Fyfe. De Arte Venandi cum Avibus was originally written shortly before the year 1250. This is a reissue of the 1943 edition. Large format. Green cloth boards, gilt title and tooling to spine. Colour frontis. B/w illustrations. cx + 637 pages. Boards clean. Foxing to text block and endpapers. Gift inscription in ink to first blank page else contents clean. Dustwrapper has some foxing, loss to spine (affecting title) and rear panel flap edge caused by insect/snail damage. Edges slightly worn. Overall, a decent copy.
