Large, heavy format. 3/4 red leather binding. Colour chromolithograph frontis. Numerous b/w plates and illustrations. October 4th 1890 to August 29th 1891. Rebacked with burgundy cloth spine, retaining original title piece. New endpapers. Frontis is MISSING and has been replaced with the plate which was opposite page 1. 1 other plate MISSING (Our British Cavalry). Fold-out plate opposite page 289 is creased. Browning and fingering to contents.

Spine and corners bumped and slightly worn. Covers grubby. Prize plate to front pastedown. Grubby fingermarks to page margins. Endpapers partly browned.

Spine and corners bumped and worn. A couple of bumps to cover edges. Browning to spine and cover edges. Some of gilt on front cover is rubbed. Two names in pen to front endpaper, one crossed out. Front joint starting to crack by frontis. Browning to endpapers and some page edges. Contents generally clean. All plates present.

Almost very good condition in a good dustwrapper.
A Chapter in the History of Building. Green cloth covers with blind title to front cover, gilt to spine. 10.25 x 8". Top edge of text block green, others uncut. 24 colour plates plus b/w text illustrations. 249 pages. Spine bumped, a little wear to corners. Some blotches and uneven fading to spine and covers. Foxing, mainly to endpapers, prelims and page edges. Light browning to half-title page. Contents very good, just an odd mark mark. All plates present, one has creasing to margin. Dustwrapper has a few areas of loss along edges. Also grubby with some browning.
