A republication of the author's 1300 mile journey in 1885 in the 2-ton "Land Yacht Wanderer". Limited edition of 500 copies. Green boards, gilt title to spine. B/w illustrations. Author of many children's books, little did he think he would become the father of modern caravanning and first vice-president of the Caravan Club when formed in 1907. ISBN: 0907128157. This is copy no. 404. Spine and corners bumped. Inludes a small erratum slip stating "first published in leisure hour in 1885 and 1886". Dustwrapper is price-cut and slightly faded to spine.

Frontis is MISSING and has been replaced with the plate which was opposite page 1. 1 other plate MISSING (Our British Cavalry). Fold-out plate opposite page 289 is creased. Browning and fingering to contents.

Some pages are loose but none seem to be totally detached. Some foxing and an odd mark but most pages are clean.
