It was a bold new design that was the end product of a process that began when Boris Johnson promised a new Routemaster if he became mayor of London in 2008. He did, and this book is the story of how that pledge was developed into a bus during the first four years of his time as mayor and the further developments during his second and final term. The LT type bus which started to appear on London streets in 1929. The first vehicles of this class of over 1400 vehicles had outside staircases while the most developed examples led the way to the STL of 1932. All the variations are covered here, including the famous Bluebirds, the 'Scooter' single deckers and the two coaches. Large format. Matt pictorial boards.
