Spine bumped and there is a light mark between the title and the author (looks like a small rubbing/possible erasure mark). Corners very slightly rubbed. Endpapers lightly browned. Foxing to contents but overall a super copy of the first English edition.

Very good condition in a very good dustwrapper.
A collection of short stories of extraordinary charm, full of whimsical incident and diverting fancy. Attractive blue, pink and yellow pictorial cloth. Delightful colour and b/w illustrations. Two top corners of covers are bumped. Some bumping to base of spine, with a few small chips to cloth. Spine is a little darkened, but rest of covers are nice and bright. Foxing to endpapers, outer page edges and a few scattered throughout contents - but not very heavily. Contents are very good indeed - plates are beautifully bright. Pictorial wrapper is price-cut with some foxing; browned and grubby to spine with some wear. There are also a few small closed edge-tears. Chipping to top of wrapper spine with very minimal loss. A beautifully bright copy of this delightful book!

A Fairy Story. Blue cloth, dark blue title to spine and front cover, with decoration to front cover. 8 Colour plates and 8 b/w plates, other b/w illustrations throughout text. A beautiful book. Some browning to covers, with a few marks. Couple of corners bumped, with very tiny amount of chipping and fraying to cloth on a couple. Light foxing/browning to endpapers, outer page edges and a few to contents. A few plates have grubby margin marks, with one plate having a little edge-chipping and a closed edge tear (though it doesn't affect picture). Still a lovely copy of this book. Reduced from £400.

No half-title but no evidence of any removal. Some pencil annotation. Bookplate of J. Arthur Hutton, the famous angling author, on front pastedown. Hutton wrote numerous books on salmon fishing and of particular relevance here given the book title are Wye Salmon and Other Fish; Rod-Fishing for Salmon on the Wye. Slight rubbing to spine. Overall a handsome copy.
