Dustwrapper has some foxing, loss to spine (affecting title) and rear panel flap edge caused by insect/snail damage. Edges slightly worn. Overall, a decent copy.

Embellished by 4 magnificent full-colour plates plus dramatic b/w illustrations, this is a truly special edition. Royal blue cloth, with white titles amd b/w vignette to front cover. 55 pages. Light fading to top edge of spine and rear board. Neat name and date in ink to front endpaper. Couple of light rust marks to gutter of front endpaper. Contents otherwise clean. Price-cut pictorial dustwrapper is lightly chipped at corners, some scuffing to front panel, rear panel has a few closed tears and is lightly browned. Overall a lovely copy.

Both volumes are worn at board edges and scuffed. Title label of both volumes is heavily rubbed. Foxing throughout. Series I has a closed tear (no loss) mainly to margin of plate opposite page 592, also a small chip to vertical edge of illustration list. Biro mark to some maps. Else contents are very good.
