A facsimile of a Royal Choirbook. Very large format. Burgundy cloth spine, cream boards with gilt & foil decorations. Limited edition of 500 copies and 20 lettered copies. 36 pages. Coloured frontispiece and ornamented initial letters. Also includes a commentary volumes which has red cloth spine with gilt title and pictorial front board. Colour illustrations and 117 pages. Also included is a CD: Henry's Music Motets from a Royal Choirbook Songs by Henry VIII. This is copy 55 of 500. CD is MISSING. A lovely set contained in publisher's slipcases which are lightly scuffed. The song book has a bump to tail of spine which also transfers to inside tail of gutter edges (see photos). There is some transference of red dye from the slipcase to the very outer edges of the song book (minor). All contained in original packaging from the Folio Society.

Large tear to one page has been neatly repaired.

Corrected, Improved and very much Enlarged in the year 1720 by John Strype. Illustrated with exact maps of the city and suburbs and all of the Wards; and, likewise, of the Out-Parishes of London and Westminster, and the Country ten miles round London. Together with many fair Draughts of the most Emiment Buildings. Sixth Edition. Heavy wear and some loss of colour to leather spine and corners; chipping. A couple of splits to spines. Scuffing to covers. Small white labels to bottom left hand corners of front covers. Foxing and browning; some pages have chipping/bookworm holes. Musty odour to both volumes (From age). A few pages are detached, or almost detached, but loosely inserted. Over 90% of the plates have been removed and page 21/22 of Volume 2 is missing as well (probably accidentally removed when a plate was removed).
