Almost very good condition. Sketches of early Scotch history and social progress. Originally read in the shape of Lectures to a University class. Burgundy cloth boards, gilt title to spine and vignette to front board. One colour map and two b/w maps. xliii and 368 pages including index.
Spine sunned/faded and worn at top & tail. Corners of boards lightly rubbed. Previous owner's contemporary bookplate to front pastedown. Hinges pulled. A few margin marks, foxspots to maps. Three maps present. A decent copy for a book of its age!
